AIGA Miami kicks off its 2008-2009 season in true techie form with
R O B O H E A D S. This conceptual launch event will introduce the organization's new board to chapter members and start the buzz for an exciting winter season.

A dozen new young board members - ranging from  graphic designers to copywriters to PR executives - chosen this year will spearhead a range of activities across the design spectrum. As always, AIGA Miami promises a season of top-level programming such as live lectures from design stars, major exhibitions of local talent and cutting-edge publications.

Meet and greet other bots, groove to smooth mechanical beats, and celebrate with the local chapter of America's oldest design organization.

FIND IT. DRAW IT. MAKE IT. PAINT IT.

1. Find a your-head-sized box

2. Doodle (or google) a robot head

3. Create your own with robotic found objects (buttons, wires, switches and bleepers)

4. Pop eye-holes for visibility

5. Paint it or spray paint it (we recommend at least 5 days ahead)

6. WEAR IT!

Admission is free for those wearing robotheads, and free for AIGA members.

$10 for all others.

I'm making my robot head out of reusable materials. -I found my box at BJs (lots of options there) -Looking for old electronics around the house to add for accessories and also those left over nails and bolts from previous projects. -I'm painting it with left over paints from school and adding some texture by gluing some left over papers from swatch books. No need to spend any money just use some creativity.
