There is a major disconnect between the life of a design student and the transition to being a design professional. To demystify this transition, they will share the failures, successes and surprises from their years in college to starting their own studio, dress code. Never sleep includes what they learned about self-promotion, interviews, internships, monetary problems, personal relationships, prison time, first jobs and the all around hustle of making it happen.

BIOS:
G. Dan Covert is Ohio. Andre Andreev is Bulgaria. They is dress code. At the combined age of 51 their work has been recognized by shiny awards, appeared in lots of magazines, coffee table books and 3 museums. They met while studying graphic design at California College of the Arts. Then moved to New York and got jobs with MTV working in motion and print, before stupidly leaving their dream jobs to start a studio of their own.
They also co-teach Design, Type and New Media classes at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Their book about transitioning from school to work in the field of graphic design, entitled Never Sleep will hit stores in April.
