AIGA CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION: DESIGN YOUR OWN CHAIR

ENTER THE DESIGN COMPETITION, AND YOUR CHAIR COULD SHOW DURING ART BASEL!

AIGA, the professional association for design, celebrates its centennial in 2014.  As a part of the celebration we are hosting a chair graphics design competition with the chance to win YOUR design produced on an iconic designer chair. The deadline to enter the competition is Monday, November 3, so get your spot now!

Inspired by the fact that AIGA’s earliest members purchased their own Windsor-style chairs for meetings and events, we are inviting you to customize Real Good chairs (donated by Blu Dot). In continuation of a National event and exhibition hosted in NYC the Miami Chapter is bringing the competition to the local chapter. SPECIAL EVENT!

Begins: NOW! Wednesday, October 8, 2014
Ends: All submissions DUE by NOON on Monday, November 3, 2014
Entry Fee:  $25 Members / $30 Non-Members
How to enterClick HERE to register, download a template and start designing.  Be sure to submit your design as a PDF to membership@miami.aiga.org by the deadline stated above.

All graphics for chair designs will be on display as “mini-chair” prototypes during the event in November 2014, in celebration of AIGA’s 100 years and also on display on our chapters website.

One lucky winner will be unveiled during the event with their winning design produced on the Real Good chair to take home.

(The judges will be from our AIGA Miami Board, also with special invitees.)

EVENT DETAILS TO FOLLOW. The winning chair design will be on display throughout Art Basel.

A special thanks to GG Artwork who designed the Miami Chapter Chair exhibited in NYC.  This chair will also be display at the event hosted in November.  To see photos of the NY exhibition visit aiga.org.
