AIGA Miami in collaboration with the Everglades Bicycle Club is hosting a collaborative design competition. The winning designer will get a set of the designer bicycle gear kit, as the honor of being selected number one. The final design will be published on AIGA’s and EBC’s websites. Requirements and rolls can be found below. May the designer gods be on your side!
Submission deadline is May 5th.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS 1
EBC has two logos that must be featured in the design:
ALLIGATOR ON BIKE LOGO: Legend has it that this logo was hand drawn by the mother of a young member upon the club’s inception in 1976. It has survived all these years.
EBC LOGO: This logo was developed for a team kit design in 2007. It is used on EBC’s collateral such as letterhead and website. This logo is not mandatory and a new logo design may be accepted. The existing or a new logo must be prominently featured on both the jersey and shorts and must utilize “EBC” and “Everglades Bicycle Club” together. The green color of the EBC logo is not mandatory.
The use of other phrases that we utilize such as “Miami’s Premier Bicycle Club Since 1976” or our website URL www.evergladesbc.com may be featured in the design, but this is not mandatory.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS 2
Each entrant shall submit the design in a standard team kit template. The design submittal shall show the front, back and sides of the jersey and short design. Submittal shall be in a Adobe PDF format. The boards shall not have an identifying logo or name of the artist. Identification of each board shall be a registration number.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS 3
The color scheme is open to the artist. Here are some rules of thumb:
- A predominantly green jersey or kit is not encouraged as it blends with landscaping. Bicycle jerseys are colorful for the reason of being easily seen by motorist. Our jerseys should strike an appropriate balance between colorful and loud.
- Predominantly white shorts should be discouraged. Our 2007 team kit utilized black shorts with the design continued down from the jersey. Black shorts are not mandatory, or even encouraged. The winning design should feature a design that is continuous from jersey to short.
- EBC reserves the right to request adjustments or modifications to the color scheme for production of the team kits.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS 4
The winning artist shall supply EBC with Adobe Illustrator vector files to forward to the vendor for production of the apparel. By entering the competition, the winning artist agrees to our use and unlimited fabrication of the design. The winning artist also agrees to our use of the design materials in other material, such as letterheads, website graphics, and printed materials. All participants agree to our use of their design in promoting the competition, featured on our website, newsletter or other communications.
Please send all entries or inquiries to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your full name and contact information in your submission.
