A diverse panel of speakers exploring the green movement’s sub-currents
"I shop therefore I am," is a sensational quote that contemporary artists Barbara Kruger turned into a work of art. She both sensationalizes and draws concern to the consumer culture of today. To that end, counterculture movements like Unconsumption have emerged.
Pecha Kucha Miami in collaboration with AIGA Miami hosts a diverse panel of speakers exploring subcurrents of the green movement such as Super Use, Up and Down Cycling, Design for Obsolescence, Biomimicry, Cradle to Cradle, and Permaculture.
These initiatives serve a necessary disruption questioning society's constructs of ownership, consumption patterns, and daily routines. This program is a part of the Sustainatopia Conference and Festival.
This event is free and open to the public.
