Historic Wolfsonian HIV/AIDS Posters

The Wolfsonian is home to one of the largest AIDS awareness poster collections in the world. Donated in 2012 by Henry S. Hacker and Family, the more than 3,600 posters from over 80 countries date between 1985 and 2010—together presenting the myriad nuances, diverse perspectives, and complex messages that shape visual communication for a global health crisis. The majority were designed for educational use to debunk misinformation, challenge stigma, encourage empathy, and promote safe sex and responsible drug use.
